I noticed that you can start the game over again, with the same character AND you get to keep his/her stats. Anybody know how this affects the "career-profile"?

I don't wanna screw it up, since, according to some gamers-magazine, you're suppose to load your character into ME2. But at the same time I'm dying to beat the game again, with a few different choices here and there.

Every time you start a new game it creates a new career-profile. Whatever you do this time around won't effect your last play through. There will just be two separate profiles.

I see...And the stats are just a bonus then? Just seemed strange to me that you started a new game, but kept the "XPs"...

Well you can do it to get the lvl 60 achievement or if you want to use that same character for both paragon and renegade or just basically have two profiles with different outcomes but the same Shepard.

Bioware is keeping hush hush on this but I'm guessing it will be released in winter 09.
