The boss poll made me think of this... The Thorian, possibly one of the coolest ideas for an enemy plant since Little Shop of Horrors, but I did have a couple of questions:

Ok, did you notice that when you are shooting the Thorian nodes there is a marker in their life meeter? Have any of ya'll explored that? If so, what's it all about?

Also, did you keep your Thorian grenade gas? I don't think you can get it from any of the shops. I kept mine because you never know...

Just a couple of questions I thought of.

very worthy questions! the thorian was all i could think about when looking at the boss poll. i hate hate hate the thorian. i've played it on hardcore a couple of times and i'm doing my first run through on insane and i am going to regret doing insane with the thorian.

i always keep my thorian grenade upgrade. it's stupid but i do. only today i forced myself to get rid of the xtra 2 that i had b/c i kept on having to clear out inventory to make room for better stuff-i hit the 150.

the life meter- i interpret that it means that if you do not shoot the node until its done then you are not finished with that part of killing the thorian and therefore the thorian still lives and you don't finish the mission lol. like - you gotta 86 it fully for it to work.

the questions i had about the thorian were the thorian creepers. that's when my brain was really like come ON. and i love this game but the creepers? where did they come from. the plant created his own creepers eh? well that is just rosy. he's an animal then not a plant ok? LOL. the thresher maws seemed more plausible even. i liked the concept of the bazillion yr old plant who has absorbed all culture around him and the information of an entire race it is pretty damned cool.

being glommed by all those thorian creepers while shooting the nodes was wayyy harder than benezia in my book. all you have to do for her is get behind her platform and shoot at will. with the creepers i'm using immunity/unity/adrenaline and medigels like crazy. its more like a marathon session of shooting. its not bad, its just very difficult for me to do. and i always go in worrying if i'm going to get out alive! :1364:

lol. The creepers are crazy in numbers anyway. The best way to keep them at bay is to use different force biotics. throw is great, singularity gives you opportunity to chill out for a minute.

The best thing to do IMO is to have a teammate use a pistol or something with high explosive rounds. They will knock them down easy, and then you can just wipe em out. They get up, but the rounds keep them at bay. Very effective!
The meter above the nodes is only to tell how much life it has left. Kind of cheesy, but it's a game.. my 2nd time round was easy to get through there. save when you can!

I just give everyone shot guns with shredder rounds because you can hit more then one of them at a time and in close range accuracy with a shot gun is irrelevant.

It really got on my nerves that it gave birth to fully clothed, fully armed Asari commandos.
Ridiculous.

And I fully expected to be able to cut a deal with it (spare it.)

Of course, I fully expected to be able to cut a deal with Saren and become uber evil.

didn't you know that plant slime is the perfect preservant for futuristic outfits? it is also the best anti aging cream! that's why those asari looked perfect and hot!
