Killing Jeong doesn't seem to have caused any negative consequences for ME2. I still met Shiala on Illium where she told me Zhu's hope has survived, so I still don't regret shooting him.

I liked ME 2 so much that I got ME 1 and just started playing ME 1. I have played played Dragon Age and all of the add-ons I also finished Dragon age 2 . I am enjoying ME 1 very much. I am having a bit of trouble defeating the Krogan war master at the Therum Ruins after recuing DR Liara T'Soni . I have been up grading the characters myself so maybe I am missing something. I am level 10 at this point. Any help would be appreciated.
