Wierd that there would be a collector in the vision? Aren't the result of the reapers tampering with Prothean genetics over millions of years?

this is mass effect 2, just saying this is the only time Ive seen a vision since the first game...

Yeah they tampered with them I think to control them like Harbinger does at random times.

Ok yeah...it's the same vision as ME, but yes, they made you see a Collector....(you do have to pay attention quickly!) whereas in ME you saw what seemed to be Protheans. It's foreshadowing...

But the Collectors are a mashup of reaper and Prothean genetics (or so I thought), so would the Protheans look much different to the collectors?

if what I understand is correct. the way the collectors look, is the same way the Protheans looked. I talked to one party member and they said they wouldn't have thought the Protheans were (lemme para phrase) "bug things"

I think that the reapers altered them over many generations. They aren't exactly what they used to be mentally or physically.
