Actually it doesn't work like that. If you're playing a game on you 360 before it's release date and you're on XBL then Microsoft will ban your gamer tag. What we do is if we already have our reserve paid off we just take our copy home and stare at our TV's till midnight then as soon as the clock strikes 12 we make a mad dash for the "open" button on the disc tray.
